Instructional Design for Online & Hybrid Courses

Instructional design combines principles from education, psychology, and communication to design, develop, and deliver content in a manner that is optimal for online learners.  It takes into consideration HOW students learn and what type of instructional materials and activities help students to achieve academic success.  BW Instructional Designers can work with you to design your course content for online learners.

Ed Tech at BW aligns all new online courses with the standards prescribed by Quality Matters (QM), an international leader in online education.  If you are new to teaching online at BW, your assigned Instructional Designer will provide you with print materials, a video tutorial series, and a one-to-one orientation session to get you started.  Please contact your designer 12 weeks prior to the course start date to allow ample time for training and the course design process.

The foundation of the QM's approach is rooted in identifying measurable course learning outcomes and building from there.  Your designer will help you to define objectives, organize course flow, maximize student engagement, integrate technology, and achieve results!
